The House of the Rising Sun is a traditional folk song, which was made famous by The Animals in 1964. There are earlier versions of the song that date back to 1933 by Clarence “Tom” Ashley and Gwen Foster. Bob Dylan has a popular version of The House of Rising Sun, but was not happy when his take was referred to as a cover to The Animals original. Bob Dylan was even accused of plagiarism by his fans.
Below you’ll find the House of the Rising Sun chords with the lyrics. We like Justin Guitar’s instructional video to play House of the Rising Sun. He covers a couple different techniques based on The Animals version, including a strumming version and a finger style version.
